Since he wasn't born in the US, his decision is entirely legal, however it further illustrates how odd the US tax laws are that allow people to legally skirt our tax system.

Oops, just found out he's walking away with $7M (not to mention leaving 2,000 jobless employees before his exit, I guess that's what's paying for it.). So yeah, forget about that Yahoo board grows a spine thing. Does anyone think any other lower employee would get more than a kick in the ass out the door for the same crime?

$100 billion means FB is perceived to be worth that much by the stock market. How much cash they get depends on how many shares they dump in the stock market for sale.

Sounds just about right. He left on Saturday, and from what I read, only received what had already vested or what he was entitled to. The "fidiciary" exception for the company is one that a truck can be driven through, assuming the SEC and Justice Department go after the admitted fraudulent SEC filing.

Mr. Thompson has peaked. He won't have enough money to start up a company on his own (he's a manager, anyway and not an entrepreneuer), and his next position, if he is lucky, will be at the same level as his position at eBay.

And, he gets to pay his own medical, under COBRA. Just about right.

I actually left a critical comment about this story on a piece a few days ago thinking the whole ordeal is petty and small-minded. However, I've been talking to my team and apparently this notion of resume-stuffing is getting to be an epidemic. We've been vetting candidates for a senior developer role at my agency and got dozens of great looking resumes, but apparently when candidates came in, almost all failed a coding test that looked at the skills a developer had to have on their resume just to be considered. In other words, there's a lot of lying going on out there. I hope this fiasco—which certainly isn't good for Yahoo—at least does some good for the industry.

Okay ... Scott is a liar, no doubt, and he is clearly the root of the problem. However, H&S did have the search. I've never read anywhere that Scott's team changed his bio then published it for public consumption. We really have no idea what was listed on the resume given to EBay. H&S did state over the weekend that the inaccurate listing of the degree was on the original document he submitted to them. Doubt EBay fudged after the fact ... why would they? I think he probably got away with the fudged resume for years ... and it simply got by H&S. I'm not suggesting it was orchestrated by the search firm. They may have just missed it. There would have been no upside for EBay ( Scott's team ) to change the resume after he landed the job. If H&S did catch the error on the EBay search, and then submitted the correct credentials to EBay they knew they were placing a liar. I dont think that was the case ... it simply got by them Things happen.
